The training sessions covering how to incorporate/501 c 3 a Club, Roberts Rules of Order and conducting a Lions meeting and how to conduct a member orientation for your Club for our members are being offered for an excellent learning experience.
We will also have one service projects to work on during the day. We will do another non perishable food drive that day. The first food drive in Roswell was a success collecting about 800 packages of food. For each can or package you bring to the meeting you will receive a ticket for a donated door prize drawing. The more food items you bring to the meeting, the greater chance of winning a door prize. There is no limit on the number of tickets you can receive. In the end, we will be helping people in need within our District have food items that otherwise would not be available. This will be another exciting opportunity for our Clubs to participate in and also to take back to their communities for future outreach programs. Hopefully, we can exceed the 800 food containers collected in August.
We will also receive a final update on our District tree planting project. At this point we have commitments from clubs to plant 5300 trees.
We will hear students from a deaf school sing and watch the DVD, “A Better Georgia”.
We also plan to visit the Booth Museum which is affiliated with the Smithsonian and has the largest collection of hanging Western art in the US. Entry fee to the Booth will be $6; a great bargain! I would encourage all of our Lions to attend our Fall Rally on November 5 for a very good and exciting day!
Please advise Teri Chambers-Rice, District Cabinet Secretary if you are attending so we can provide lunch for all the Lions attending and also if you plan to visit the Booth Museum. You can contact Teri at terikchambers@comcast.net or phone 678-402-6133.
